Crema Blue Pacifica Travertine

Here is a tile we are considering. They have it at a tile auction tomorrow. Three months ago it sold for $1 a square foot. If it sells for the same it will be in our whole house. It is a versailles pattern, with a chiseled edge. I don’t care for the rough edge, but I can learn to like it at that price. The picture appears dark, it is medium gray and beige in color. I like the combination, we can have our modern gray and bring in a warm natural tone as well.

Someone bid it up to $3.75 a square foot. At that price we will keep looking. Below is another tile we are considering, this is pewter travertine. A local place can get this for me, but they haven’t told me a price yet.

Structural Steel Completed

The structural steel was erected yesterday, now we are ready to start framing. There are three posts on the back patio that will hold up the covered roof. The beam and two posts will hold the center of the widows walk that looks down into the great room, this will all be concealed within the tower walls.

img_1595.jpg

img_1590.jpg

The top of that beam is 11.5 feet high. That will be the height of the widows walk looking down into 23 foot tall great room.

img_1591.jpg

The roof over the back porch will have a 1:12 pitch from right to left. We centered the posts on the large sliding glass doors for unobstructed views.

Barn Siding Started

They started the barn siding today, this will all be done tomorrow. We used a 22 gauge PBD panel for siding. Basically it is a square corrugation that repeats every 2.5 inches. The 22 gauge thickness of the panel should help it withstand light damage, normally they use 26 gauge. The overhead door will be installed Monday, and then the barn will be completed.

When the man space is done I will finally have a place to bullshit, drink bourbon and cuss.
